Most people know that smoking is dangerous, yet despite awareness of the dangerous effects of smoking on their personal health, many smokers cannot seem to quit. They defend their addiction by saying that they are only hurting themselves when they smoke. In actuality, smoking also impacts the health of people who do not smoke. Friends, children, family, co-workers, and even bystanders may suffer health problems from passive smoke.
First, what is passive smoke? You are probably familiar with the term "secondhand smoke" to define smoke inhaled by someone near a smoker. Secondhand smoke is a combination of smoke from a burning cigar, pipe, or cigarette and the smoke exhaled by a smoker. It often contains higher amounts of damaging chemicals than inhaled smoke, including double the amount of tar and nicotine. This puts people exposed to secondhand smoke at a higher risk of smoking related illnesses and health problems.
Research into the effects of passive smoking on health show increased risks for heart disease, lung disease, and various illnesses for people continually exposed to secondhand smoke. Statistics on smoking show a relationship between passive smoking and cancer, with those exposed to secondhand smoke having an increased risk of heart disease and cancer. Sadly, it is not uncommon for the nonsmoking child or spouse of a smoker to develop diseases related to smoking because of constant exposure to secondhand smoke. Passive smoking is especially bad for infants and children. Infants and children exposed to secondhand smoke are at an increased risk of respiratory infections and other respiratory illnesses. Children with asthma are at a higher risk of having more frequent attacks. Secondhand smoke can also be responsible for increasing a pregnant woman's risk of having a miscarriage or a premature baby.
Due to the health impacts of passive smoking, smoking has been banned in many public places, such as bars and restaurants. Passive smoking can also be a problem in the workplace. Workers who inhale secondhand smoke have a higher risk of illness and even have more absences from work. This has led many offices to ban smoking on the premises, and some areas have even passed legislation against smoking at work. Among workplaces with a ban on smoking, employers report more productive employees and decreased absences.
In general, most smokers start seeking ways to stop smoking out of concern for their family’s health. There are several methods to stop smoking, and one of the best ways is through the use of a quit smoking hypnosis program. Hypnotherapy programs for quitting smoking are developed specifically to help smokers stop smoking without suffering from withdrawal. They are particularly useful because they help smokers beat the mental aspect of the addiction, which is the most difficult aspect to overcome.
Self-hypnotherapy stop smoking programs are developed to teach people hypnotic techniques to help stop smoking. Among the best things about such a program is the fact that smokers learn how to stop smoking without having withdrawal symptoms. Hypnosis techniques can diminish or even eliminate withdrawal symptoms commonly experienced using other methods of quitting smoking. Another good thing is that since people are instructed on how to use hypnotherapy on themselves, they don’t have to worry about relapsing. If they ever feel the urge to smoke, they just remember and utilize the techniques that allowed them to quit.
Hypnotherapy produces many effects to help people stop smoking. It is an ideal tool for eliminating tobacco cravings while also acting as a relaxation aid to
alleviate stress and tension. It also functions as a motivational aid to completely eliminate the psychological urge to smoke. This variety of effects gives hypnosis its high rate of success in helping people to permanently stop smoking.
The benefits of quitting smoking include better health for the quitting smoker as well as for friends, co-workers, and family. People who are looking to quit out of concern for their loved ones can turn to self-hypnosis for a useful and easy-to-use tool for quitting. Anyone can learn self-hypnosis techniques for quitting from an instructional hypnosis program, and stop smoking hypnosis has a high rate of success because it makes quitting smoking quicker and easier.
